Damon Robbins has been in the restaurant business for most of his adult life, starting in college in a Mexican Restaurant, then moving on after college to San Francisco where he Attended California Culinary Academy for 6 months before deciding it just wasn’t quite right. At the time, Damon was working at Frisson Restaurant under local Modestan and restauranteur; Joe Hargrave. Under Joe, Damon moved through the ranks going from food expediter to General Manager within a period of less than two years. “At this point I was just overwhelmed with the city and my job duties in general, I wanted to do something that wasn’t on such a grand scale, something that allowed me to communicate and connect with people more easily, so I moved back home, to Modesto, with that goal in mind.” After moving back, Damon settled on the idea of opening a place where people could enjoy a glass of wine, a bite of food, and enjoy it all in a comfortable and stimulating atmosphere. Thus was born Camp 4 Wine Café.
